onedotzero produced a 30 second animated TV commercial for Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation in collaboration with Seed Animation.
The animation is based around a biodegradable plastic replacement that ‘melts’ harmlessly into the earth when it is discarded. The client was looking for a happy, fun animation that also had a unique style as well as delivering the products sustainable properties.
Cycling though a series of everyday life scenes from romantic to athletic via the fantastic the spot shows its eco credentials with the form of a straw ultimately melting back into nature.
Working with Japanese agency Dentsu, onedotzero selected a shortlist of animators before commissioning Seed Animation to undertake the project.
The final animation uses 3D plastic moulded characters and objects as the central element of the piece contrasting against bright, fun and colourful backgrounds.
