Each turbine is attached to a pole which is inserted into the wooden base. Installation went pretty smoothly although Tom got blisters on his hands.

Weeks in Workshop
It’s been a long time but things are finally ready. Thumbs were hit and poles flexed, splinters splintered, screws screwed, wood came and went, many tears were shed. Anyway. It’s all ready now.
And I’m rather excited about it.

I have always been fascinated with the prospect of architecture powering itself and that our environment be a dynamic changing entity. Join these two thoughts and I wondered how to go about powering a buildings’ aesthetics at a large scale with micro devices - cue - ‘wind to light’ an idea that visualises wind movement across the built form with the use of mini turbines and LEDs.
Looking forward to seeing the results of the install yesterday.
